Escape free games played online are about riddles of getting out of some location or building. During the escaping process, a player will have to solve such issues: how to get out effectively without being noticed by the foes or how to collect all items that are required in order to unlock the end door. Sometimes, these two types can be intertwined. And so a player will have to gather things during trying not to be noticed by anyone.

The level of graphics of such games can be different – from primitive (like in Fireboy and Watergirl series of free games) to very finely elaborated (like in ‘Abandoned Forest House’).
